Very soft soils are always challenging to road structures that need to cope with increased heavy goods traffic. A Highway in the Ukraine from Kiev to Yenakievka was renewed with geosynthetics adapted to the subsoil to improve the load-bearing capacity. The renewed highway is now ready for the future and the expected increase in heavy goods traffic.
The geosynthetic absorbs energy and reduces rutting. which will make the highway more resistant against environmental influences and the increasing traffic load. As a result, the construction is more secure and the extended live time makes it more sustainable.
