Geosynthetics cannot be compared to single-use plastic products

Updated: Oct 25, 2022

Geosynthetics are geotechnically innovative solutions, produced with modern technologies. Their versatility is used to limit human-generated impacts on the environment.

Geosynthetics are installed in landfill applications to protect water and nature from possible contamination. Water is a necessary resource for human life. Geosynthetics can be used in the construction of basins where water is stored in a sustainable manner.

They can also really support society’s efforts to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (United Nations): points like 7 (clean water), 9 (more efficient infrastructures), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), 12 (responsible consumption and production), as well as other goals.

All EAGM members are working together to disseminate knowledge about the world of geosynthetics and their applications in order to guarantee their proper use.
